Baby Modeling Resource

Baby Modeling and my buddy Rich

On a recent trip to China I got to know a guy named Rich Shefrin. He's a great business coach who works with many of the top people in the world of internet marketing, but I believe his real genius is being able to help his clients see their businesses as an organic whole and, above all, helping business owners get clear on their own vision of their ideal life-work.

Anyway, I mentioned to Rich that my wife and I have an online (soon to be "real"!) store that sells high-end baby gifts by companies like Little Giraffe. He then told me about an associate of his who has a great baby information site and how he was going to contribute some articles to the site about his (Rich's) children's baby modeling. Both of Rich's daughters are baby models.

Well, I filed the conversation away--until this morning. I was surfing the 'Net, trying as always to learn more about babies, baby products and parenting, and I came across the site Rich had mentioned. Here it is: Baby Place: They call themselves "the starting point for information on pregnancy, birth and babies" for good reason. It's a great resource.

Just thought I'd pass it on.

summertime

We have decided to eat Popsicles everyday. We also don't get dressed until 10 or 11am. Watching out for Lightning Bugs, we sometimes stay up very late. We enjoy simple meals - corn steamed on the grill, fresh tomatoes, melons. I love summer and I love my babies in the summertime. We play hard in the early part of the day. I hold them close before naps, their hair and skin smells like the sun, happiness, easy, lazy days. They sleep so well and wake up rested, ready for our afternoon adventure - park, pool, romps in summer air. We have a nice ritual of a picnic supper at our community pool. We are starving and a peanut butter sandwich is as good as any fancy dinner. Tired and glowing, we eat and bask in two and three year olds' humor - nothing is serious - except for me, and I am working on a light heart. I am letting go of having to have a perfect house, all the laundry folded, three square meals a day, beds that are made, hair that is combed. Summer has been good for me. My children remind me of all that is golden, sweet and imperfect.

As we opened our daily Popsicles, I instructed my babies to go outside to eat them. My son asked, "Mama, do we always have to eat them outside?" I was anticipating a protest from him when I answered, "Yes." Instead, he said, " Wow, that's Magic!" I realize that so much of how we move through our day is the perspective, the view that we choose to take in any given moment. We are easy to please around here, and I like it!
